NY, NY

Have to admit it. Wasn't planning on it, but here it is. I had a good time in NY, NY today. Now, NY has NEVER been a priority place for me. Not been on my "must see, must experience" list. When I thought about it, it was always in a vague sense, that it was "THE CITY". But, I actually had fun today. :)

Itinerary...Thus far!

Hello everyone who is interested in our GRAND ADVENTURE (tm). As of September 23rd, here is the full itinerary of our trip. We have almost everything booked, except for some in the middle, where I will include town we are going to. Everything else, I will include where we are staying.

October 1: Board train for Chicago: 3:40 PM, arrives 10/2 in Chicago at 2:14 PM.
October 2: Board train for New York: 10:00 PM, arrives 10/3 in New York at 7:40 PM.
October 3: in New York, staying at the Novotel New York.
October 4-10: board QM2 in New York at 1 PM, dock in Southampton sometime AM on 10/10.
October 10-12: drive to Portsmouth, staying 2 nights at Fortitude Cottage.
October 12-16: drive to Bath, staying 4 nights at the Athole House.
October 16: drive to Cardiff, staying 1 night at Novotel Cardiff Centre.
October 17-19: drive to STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, staying 2 nights at Cherry Trees.
October 19-21: drive to Manchester, staying 2 nights at Manchester Marriott Victoria and Albert Hotel.
October 21-23: drive to Glasgow, staying 2 nights at The Alamo (wtf?) Guest House.
October 23-25: drive to Loch Ness/Inverness, staying at the Lovat Arms Hotel.
October 25-27: drive to Aberdeen, staying at Marriott Aberdeen.
October 27-November 2: drive to Edinburgh, staying at EQ-2.
November 2-4: drive to Chester-Le-Street, staying at Lumley Castle.
November 4: drive to London, staying at Holiday Inn Kensington.
November 5-8: train to Paris, St. Pancras Station: 6:30 AM. staying at Hotel Concorde La Fayette.
November 8-14: train to London, Gare du Nord: 9:13 PM, staying at Grosvenor House.
November 14: rent a car/take a train to Southampton, staying at White Star Hotel.
November 15-21: board QM2 in Southampton at 1:00 PM, arrives New York sometime AM on 11/21. Get rental car from airport.
November 21: in New York, staying at Club Quarters Rockefeller Center.
November 22: Start driving for home!
